  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup whole milk room temperature

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add milk, mixing until batter is smooth.
  • Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow cupcakes to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, try adding a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter.
