Watergate Cake

A delightful classic cake with a history as intriguing as its flavor. Light, fluffy, and pistachio-infused.

  • 1 box white cake mix approximately 15.25 ounces
  • 1 package instant pistachio pudding mix 3.4 ounces
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, instant pistachio pudding, vegetable oil, eggs, and club soda. Beat until smooth.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts, if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting or serving.

Notes

This cake is delicious on its own or with a whipped topping of your choice.
