Toffee Recipe Almonds

  • 1 cup sliced almonds Use blanched almonds for a smoother texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves.
  • Bring to a boil, without stirring, and cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Add almonds and stir to coat evenly.
  • Pour almonds onto the prepared baking sheet and spread in a single layer.
  • Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
