Salted Butterscotch Cookies

These chewy salted butterscotch cookies are the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Easy to make and even easier to devour!

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 0.25 cup sea salt for sprinkling

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in the butterscotch chips.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
