Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the pumpkin puree and milk until well combined.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add chopped pecans or walnuts to the batter. A cream cheese frosting is a delicious accompaniment to this pumpkin cake.
