  • 8 oz penne pasta use whole grain for a healthier option
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes to taste
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.25 cup basil leaves chopped

Preparation Steps

  • Cook the penne pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 30 seconds.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and heavy cream. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and mix until well coated.
  • Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped basil leaves.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine to the sauce.
