Prep : 10 Total : 25 minutes

Ingredients

Burger Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 lean ratio recommended
  • 0.5 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

For Serving

  • 4 burger buns toasted
  • lettuce leaves
  • tomato slices
  • onion slices
  • optional toppings (e.g., pickles, cheese)

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, peanut butter, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form them into patties, about 0.75 inches thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
  • Heat a grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the cooking surface.
  • Cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired internal temperature.
  • While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast your burger buns.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any other desired toppings.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra kick, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the burger mixture. If you prefer a spicier peanut butter, use a natural peanut butter with a touch of chili.
