orange peels
washed and cut into strips

granulated sugar

Instructions
Preparation Steps
Boil the orange peels in water for 10 minutes. Drain and repeat twice to remove bitterness.
In a saucepan, dissolve 2 cups of sugar in 1 cup of water over medium heat.
Add the orange peels to the syrup. Simmer until translucent, about 45 minutes.
Remove peels, letting excess syrup drip off, then roll them in granulated sugar.
Place on a wire rack to dry until slightly hardened.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
