This vibrant Orange Cranberry Sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tart, a delightful addition to any holiday meal. Fresh cranberries, zesty orange, and a touch of sweetness combine to create a sauce that’s bursting with flavor and incredibly easy to make.
Rinse the cranberries and pick out any stems or damaged berries.
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and orange juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Add the cranberries and orange zest to the saucepan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
Serve warm or cold. Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
For a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to pulse the sauce a few times after it has cooled slightly. Adjust the sugar to your preference.
