Prep : 10 Total : 25 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 0.25 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Rinse the cranberries and pick out any stems or damaged berries.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and orange juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the cranberries and orange zest to the saucepan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
  • Serve warm or cold. Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

For a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to pulse the sauce a few times after it has cooled slightly. Adjust the sugar to your preference.
