Monkey Bread Recipe

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the sugars and oil. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Stir in the cinnamon and nuts.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
