Mackinac Island Fudge Recipe

This recipe recreates the famous Mackinac Island fudge, known for its rich, creamy texture and decadent chocolate flavor.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and vanilla extract until melted and smooth.
  • Pour into a buttered 8x8 inch pan. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
