Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape it into a round loaf.
Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet and cut a deep cross on top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
