German Chocolate Brownies

Decadent German Chocolate Brownies with a rich chocolate base and a sweet coconut pecan topping. A perfect treat for chocolate lovers!

  • 1 cup unsweetened chocolate chopped
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk

Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup pecans toasted

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Melt chocolate and butter together. Stir in sugar and eggs until smooth.
  • Add vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and buttermilk. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, coconut, and pecans. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
