Funnel Cake Recipe

A classic carnival treat! This funnel cake recipe is easy to make at home and yields a crispy, golden-brown delight.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pour batter into the hot oil in a zig-zag pattern, using a spoon or squeeze bottle.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra sweetness, drizzle with maple syrup or chocolate sauce.
