Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Pour batter into the hot oil in a zig-zag pattern, using a spoon or squeeze bottle.
Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra sweetness, drizzle with maple syrup or chocolate sauce.
