Fried Squash Blossoms

Crispy fried squash blossoms, a delightful appetizer or side dish. These blossoms are lightly battered and fried until golden brown.

  • 12 count Squash blossoms Wash thoroughly and gently remove pistils.
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil For frying

Preparation Steps

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each squash blossom into the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Carefully place the coated blossoms into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from skillet and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as aioli or marinara.
