Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice the French bread lengthwise and spread with Dijon mustard.
Layer the roast beef and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the bread.
Top with the other half of the bread.
Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.
Meanwhile, heat the beef broth in a saucepan over medium heat.
Serve the sandwich immediately, with the warm beef broth for dipping.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a good quality beef broth. You can also add other vegetables to the broth, such as onions, carrots, or celery.
