  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup butter softened
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
