Delicious Apple Cheddar Bread Recipe

Tart apples combined with sharp cheddar cheese create a moist and flavorful quick bread perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1.33 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded, divided
  • 0.33 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.67 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Granny Smith apple diced
  • 0.75 cup Granny Smith apple grated

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in diced and grated apples.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This bread is delicious served warm or at room temperature. Perfect for breakfasts, snacks, or paired with soups.
