Cream Cheese Brownies

Decadent brownies with a swirl of creamy cream cheese filling. A perfect blend of fudgy and tangy!

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter. Top with the remaining brownie batter.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let cool completely before cutting and serving.

Notes

These brownies are best served at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
