Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter. Top with the remaining brownie batter.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes
These brownies are best served at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
