Cinnamon Raisin Bread

A delicious and easy-to-make cinnamon raisin bread recipe, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Preparation Steps

  • Combine warm water, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add milk, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix well. Gradually add the remaining 2 cups of flour until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Add raisins to the mixture.
  • Add the raisin mixture to the dough and knead until well combined.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
