Instructions
Preparation Steps
Combine warm water, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add milk, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix well. Gradually add the remaining 2 cups of flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Add raisins to the mixture.
Add the raisin mixture to the dough and knead until well combined.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
