  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Sugar for rolling
  • 0.5 cup Colored Sugar Sprinkles

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs, then add vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Divide dough in half. Add food coloring to one half and mix until desired color is achieved.
  • Roll each dough half into a rectangle. Layer them on top of each other and roll tightly.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  • Slice into 1/4 inch thick rounds.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
