  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk room temperature
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the flour mixture and mix together on medium speed until well mixed.
  • Stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before frosting as desired.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing.
