Chocolate Bundt Cake Recipe

  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Boiling water

Chocolate Glaze (Optional)

  • 1.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Gradually add the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
  • Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan.
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
