Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add salt, melted butter, and remaining sugar. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Roll out the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle with pecans. Roll up tightly, starting from the long side. Slice into 12 rolls and place them in the prepared pan.
Cover and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Drizzle with caramel sauce and serve warm.
Notes
These cinnamon rolls are best served fresh from the oven. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
