Caramel Apple Cupcakes

Delicious cupcakes with a caramel center and apple-flavored frosting, perfect for fall celebrations.

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 cups grated apple peeled
  • 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with 12 liners.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  • Fold in the grated apple.
  • Fill each cupcake liner halfway, then add a spoonful of caramel sauce in the center of each. Top with more batter until each liner is two-thirds full.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cupcakes are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
