Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips and toffee bits.
Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra depth of flavor, you can brown the butter before softening it. Allow it to cool slightly before using.
