This delightful Blackberry Cobbler is easy to make and is a perfect summer dessert.

  • 4 cups blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 1.5 cups sugar divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the blackberries, 3/4 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and the remaining sugar.
  • Stir in the milk and melted butter until the batter is smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, then pour the blackberry mixture over the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a classic treat.
