Benihana Fried Rice Recipe
A delicious and authentic Benihana-style fried rice recipe, made with fresh vegetables and your choice of protein.

cooked rice
day-old rice is ideal

chopped vegetables (onion, carrots, peas)
Use your favorite mix

tbsp
vegetable oil
2
cups
cooked chicken or shrimp
optional

tbsp
soy sauce
1
tbsp
sesame oil
Instructions
Preparation Steps
Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the vegetables and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
Add the cooked rice and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
Add the protein (if using) and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Cook for 1 minute more.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of rice wine or mirin.
