Instructions
Preparation Steps
Cut beef into strips and season with salt and pepper.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned.
Add mushrooms and cook until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce thickens.
Stir in sour cream and heat through. Do not boil.
Serve over noodles or rice.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use cream instead of sour cream. You can also add other vegetables, such as onions or peppers.
