Apple Butter Recipe

A simple recipe for homemade apple butter, perfect for spreading on toast or biscuits.

  • 6 lbs Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup Apple Cider
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg

Preparation Steps

  • Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the apples are soft and the mixture has thickened, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  • Transfer to sterilized jars and seal.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
