- 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and cut out shapes.
- Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
Notes
Let cookies cool completely before serving. Optionally, decorate with red, white, and blue icing.
